We are building a house from foam core panels, which are also known as Structural Insulated Panels, or SIPs. We have done most of the work ourselves and it has been a very interesting experience with many twists and turns, and delays. For the longest time it seemed like it was just a foam core fantasy, but we have finally gotten it to the point where we can live there again at last.

Finally got my balls installed....
It's so nice to finally have them up where they belong.
They had been waiting to come outside for MONTHS!!!
My name is Peter Krebs. I'm an artist who grew up on Middlevale Lane (I now live in Charlottesville). When I was in college (in 92), I did a painting of your house.
My brother ran into your post about the cell phone tower and pointed me to your blog. So I checked it out and wrote about it on my blog (http://culturecurrent.blogspot.com/).
You should check out the painting (which is posted there). My brother still lives in the Middlevale Lane house and the painting is there. He'll be glad to have you over if you're ever interested.
Anyway, good luck with the renovation. I know it's been a very prolonged experience.
Peter - I feel so honored that you would do a painting of my house and I would love to go see the actual painting sometime. It is really beautiful and I love the spirit in which it was painted. It almost feels like my old house, which I miss so much, has come back to life! Please give my thanks to your brother for mentioning this to you.
Mike - yes it is often quite amazing the way parallel paths sometimes cross.

OK, I was thinking of some sort of play on words, but on second thought, I'm not going to go there. They look great!
Good for them! they look wonderful in their rightful place :)
Mike - Thanks, I was attempting to show that some humor still remains amidst the drudgery that is my life.
Phoenix - Thank you, I like them much better when they are out in the fresh air.
;)

Wow. What a terrific story - sans the loss of farmland and the fire, of course. Glad the two of you connected.
