We are building a house from foam core panels, which are also known as Structural Insulated Panels, or SIPs. We have done most of the work ourselves and it has been a very interesting experience with many twists and turns, and delays. For the longest time it seemed like it was just a foam core fantasy, but we have finally gotten it to the point where we can live there again at last.

okay, this is not fair....
Doug started this month by going out on a 10 day cruise from Madiera to Fort Lauderdale. Cyndy, admittedly, was somewhat bitter about this because she had turned down several ship gigs this past summer in the spirit of getting the house finished. Since Doug needed extra time after he got back to recover from his very exhausting ship gig, not much else happened with the house this month. But we did have our first meeting with Pat the Plumber. We have a very good feeling about him. Cyndy spent a lot of time researching doors. They are expensive. Isn’t this fascinating?
